Each vehicle rental is governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines important terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations during the rental period. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old, with age limits varying by vehicle type. If you are under 25, additional fees may apply. A valid driving license, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided. Any extra requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement must be met.
Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Knutsford office. A booking deposit might be necessary to confirm your reservation. The full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at the time of collection; refueling charges will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Returning the vehicle late may result in additional fees, so please inform us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You can find full coverage details and excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional insurance applies. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Charges may apply for late cancellations or no-shows, so it is advisable to review these details carefully.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky ventures. Transporting hazardous materials is not permitted, nor is subletting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive. Operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, using the vehicle for purposes it was not intended for, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and driving beyond the agreed geographical boundaries without authorization is not allowed.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Knutsford is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive authority of the courts in this jurisdiction.
