All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance information, associated charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. Should any discrepancies arise between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Knutsford, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid full driving licence is required, held for the duration indicated in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or at our Knutsford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through recognized payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless you select additional coverage. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle may not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, off-roading, or other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting to unauthorized individuals or allowing unapproved drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle must not be used for purposes it was not intended for, and adherence to passenger and weight limits is required. Travel outside the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Knutsford will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, associated with your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid over the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
